Fuel Problem as Possible Theory to Lima Bolivia Air Crash

A new theory has unveiled in light of recently discovered evidence regarding the plane crash in Colombia that killed players of the Chapecoense soccer team.

According to reports, a VivaColombia Air flight was heading towards Medellin, the destination of the fated Lima Bolivia flight, around the the same time of the crash. The pilots of VivaColombia Air reported the Lima Bolivia flight transmitted issues with fuel and then electrical failure, lending support a fuel problem caused the crash.

The investigation is currently ongoing and is being conducted by Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority.

Turbulence on China Eastern Airline Flight MU-777 Injures 7

China Eastern Airline flight Mu-777 heading from Kumming, China, to Sydney experienced unexpected turbulence upon its descent for landing.

Seven people were injured during the incident, including five passengers and two cabin crew. They were all taken to hospitals for check up.

76 Killed in Lamia Bolivia Plane Crash

Lomia Bolivia flight LMI-2933, flying from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, to Medellin, Colombia, crashed during its descent on landing. On board was Brazil’s Chapecoense soccer team en route to compete in the South American Cup finals. The finals have been suspended in result.

76 people are declared deceased while 5 people are reported to have survived. This includes three players, a flight attendant, and a journalist.

The wife of one of the surviving players, defender Alan Ruschel, released a statement saying, “[w]e are praying for everyone who has not been rescued, and for their families. It is a complicated and difficult situation. Only God can give us strength.”

Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority has opened an investigation on the accident.

Air Canada Turbulence in Clear Skies Injures Two

Air Canada Flight RV-1944, heading from Toronto to Bogota, underwent unexpected turbulence during its flight. The Boeing 767-300 experienced severe turbulence for 1-2 minutes despite radar data forecasting relatively calm skies.

Two flight attendants were injured during the flight. One was declared incapacitated during the rest of the flight.

Fedex Cargo Flight Catches Fire on Landing

A Fedex Cargo McDonnell Douglas MD-10 plane, flying from Memphis to Fort Lauderdale, caught fire as it landed on the runway. The NTSB report of the crash states the left main gear collapsed upon landing, causing the left hand engine and wing to scrape along the runway and ignite the fire.

Two crew were on board at the time but were uninjured, however. The crew escaped the burning aircraft through the cockpit windows using the emergency rope. Moreover, the aircraft received substantial damages to its wing and fuselage.

General Electric and Boeing Sued Alongside American Airlines

Passengers on board American Airline Flight 383 that caught fire speeding down the runway during takeoff are suing Boeing and General Electric. The two companies will join as defendants in the lawsuit against American Airlines.

The plaintiffs claim that Boeing and General Electric developed defective engine parts that jeopardized the lives of those on flight 383. Additionally, the suit accuses American Airline flight attendants of negligently handling the emergency.

75 Year Old Killed After Plane Lands in Marsh

A seventy-five year old man is dead after his small plane crashed into the marshes in in New Jersey.

William Lindley, the pilot on the plane, was the only one on board. The NTSB is investigating the crash.

Air Ambulance Crash in Nevada Kills All 4 on Board

An American Medflight plane carrying a heart patient to the University of Utah crashed during its climb shortly after takeoff. The plane reportedly failed gaining altitude, stalled, and crashed in a mining company’s parking lot, enveloping into flames.

All four people on board, including the pilots, patient, and medics, were killed. Fire Chief Matt Griego on the scene stated “there was not a lot left of the aircraft.” Nobody on the ground was injured, however.

American Medflight is now working with the NTSB and the FAA to investigate the crash.

2 Dead After Small Plane Crash in Georgia

Two are dead after a small plane crashed in Pike County, Georgia. The accident occurred a quarter mile away from Peach State Airport in an apparent attempt of the plane to land.

The airplane in the crash was a World War I biplane created by the Experimental Aircraft Association.

The FAA and the NTSB have arrived on scene to investigate to the incident.

American Airlines Flight 383 Passengers Sue Airline

Passengers on American Airlines Flight 383, which had one of its engines catch fire speeding down the runway, are suing the airline.

Ahmed Furno, one of the passengers pursuing litigation, claimed, “People couldn’t breathe. The oxygen mask did not fall. There was no one on the loud speaker.” He added, “[i]n all that chaos, there was no one there to help.”

The case filed in a circuit court of Illinois alleges the airline negligently maintained both the aircraft and the handling of the accident. Floyd Wisner, the leading attorney of the charges against American Airlines, stated “GE and American and Boeing…need to take a harder look at this problem because I’m concerned it’s a recurring problem.”

The firm plans to include more passengers on the claim as well as defendants including manufacturers of the defective engine.
