5 Injured After Atlanta-Bound Plane Makes an Emergency Landing in Nigeria

A Delta airplane began it’s flight to Atlanta when 30 minutes into the trip, the crew received an indication that the left engine had caught on fire. The plane shut the engine down and quickly returned back to Lagos, Nigeria for an emergency landing.

Airport fire crews greeted the plane when it landed. Passengers evacuated the onto the runway using the plane’s emergency slides.  It was reported that five of the passengers received non-critical injuries during this exit.
