PORT MANSFIELD - Federal authorities are searching wreckage to find the cause of a deadly plane crash.

The lead investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board is expected to have a preliminary report out by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, autopsies were ordered for 39-year-old Harvey Kinikin and his brother-in-law, James Robinett. They were the only people aboard the plane when it went down Thursday night.

We’re told the two were flying from Amarillo to the Valley for a fishing trip. Robinett’s body was found Friday. Search crews found Kinikin’s body Sunday.

A local fishing service also helped dredge the water for the wreckage. What’s left of the plane will be shipped to Dallas as the investigation into the crash continues.
