Maples Field Plane Crash Being Investigated by State Police

Virginia State Police are now investigating the plane crash involving a 1940 Fairchild R40-404 at Maple Field Airport.

The pilot aboard, William Hargreaves, was not injured however the passenger, Donald Rhynalds, was flown to Fairfax Hospital.

The plane attempted to land on the airport’s grass runway, but slid off the path and overturned. The FAA have joined the investigation.
